About Me
I'm originally from a very small town on the far west end of the Upper Peninsula called White Pine. It's located near the Porcupine Mountains which is a 60,000 acre state park featuring some of Michigan's most breathtaking views. While growing up there I enjoyed participating in sports and played both basketball and football throughout my high school career. After high school I attended Central Michigan University (Fire up Chips!) where I graduated in December of 2006 with a Bachelors of Science in Education while majoring in social studies and a minoring in history. In college I also had the opportunity to do an internship as a clubhouse attendant for the Detroit Tigers and got to spend spring training with the team in Lakeland, Florida as well as the beginning of the season when the team returned to Detroit. During my last semester at CMU I completed my student teaching at Livonia-Clarenceville High School. While there I had the opportunity to be the head coach of the junior varsity boys basketball team. In the fall of 2007 I was hired here at Clarkston and have loved every minute of it. The small town fell of it and the passion the community has for the school is what I love most. I immediately began to get involved with sports and have coached football or basketball every year since I was hired here. I no longer coach basketball, but I continue to coach football as the offensive line coach for the varsity football team. In 2011 I went back to school and completed by master's degree in business administration from the University of Massachusetts. In 2012 I began a new chapter of my life in when I married Lindsey, who is an elementary teacher in Novi Community Schools. In 2014 we were blessed with a beautiful and amazing boy, Max, who brings a joy to our lives that can't be explained in words. In March of 2017 we were blessed once again with a beautiful baby girl, Emerson who has made our family even more complete. We also have a dog, Chip, who is a beagle/boston terrier mix that never provides us with a dull moment. I have immensely enjoyed my first twelve years here at Clarkston and I look forward to many more years to come.
